4G is the technology for the air interface in the next gen mobile.

DeleteThank u for all d guidance you gave. I basically need to understand how will a next generation mobile network will work with the help of mpls and what are the possible ways of implementing next generation mobile networks totally i.e. making it available for all subscribers.
Any commn. network consists of three basic elements. (1) User Equipment( mobile handset, Laptop , PC and in future it can be practically anything) (2) access Network( Cu wire, OFC, radio spectrum) and (3) The core network. Now there is consistent development in all the elements. In future the core shall be high speed IP MPLS network and the access media may be 3G or 4G( may be 5G). Now just at the threshold between these two , there will be Media Gateways which will convert TDM traffic of mobile network to IP traffic which will pass thru MPLS backbone, controlled by Media gateway controller and soft-switches. U have to read each element separately for full understanding. While 4G is a very good technology for implementing high speed broadband, but mobility is still an issue to be solved, while 3G handles a mobile customer in an effective way, with lower speed. So, we can say that there will be developments in the air interface in the future to provide high data speed along with mobility while the core shall be an all IP network(MPLS ) and the media gateways will be there for protocol conversion i.e. to convert any traffic to
